Biltong Potjie

For something different, try this amazing Biltong Pot.


  • 500 g Biltong, cut
  • 500 g Pasta ( any form, except spaghetti )
  • 250 g Butter or Margarine
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 1 Packet, diced mushrooms
  • 1 Tablespoon crushed garlic
  • 2 packets instant white sauce / cream of mushroom soup
  • Handfull of mixed fresh herbs
  • 250 ml Cream
  • 250 ml grated cheese


  • Melt the butter, fry onion, garlic and mushroom.
  • Take some coals out if you have to, your pot must now be cooked on low heat. Add the biltong.
  • Add the pasta, mix the packets of instant sauce with enough water to ensure it covers everything.
  • Add the herbs then close the lid, just check now and again that there is enough water.
  • Once pasta is cooked, take pot off the coals, add cream and cheese and mix well.
